"Patient-centered care is best provided by listening to patients and meeting them wherever they may be in their dental journey."
Dr. Stulen’s love of dentistry is evident from the moment you meet her. Being a dentist allows her to combine her love of people and her talents in science, math, and art. Warm and friendly, Dr. Stulen loves building relationships with people and improving their lives. She cares deeply about her patients and wants them to thrive.
“Helping patients regain confidence in their smiles makes me grateful to be in such a meaningful profession,” she said.
Dr. Stulen is a glass-half-full kind of person. No matter the situation, she always looks for the positive. Dr. Stulen was even voted “Most Likely to Be Smiling Right Now” as a senior in college. She prioritizes making her patients feel comfortable and at ease in our office. In fact, that friendly approach is one of the qualities that attracted Dr. Stulen to our practice in the first place.
“One of the reasons I knew that Norge Dental Center was a good fit was that the patients would repeatedly tell me how much they love it and that the office feels like a family,” Dr. Stulen said.
A Williamsburg native, Dr. Stulen’s roots in our community are deep. She grew up going to the farmer’s market at Merchant’s Square and riding the roller coasters at Busch Gardens over and over again. She graduated from Lafayette High School, where she met her now-husband. She’s grateful to continue living and building relationships in the place she calls home.
When it comes to her work, Dr. Stulen strives for excellence. Throughout her dental training at Virginia Commonwealth University, she explored all areas of dentistry, learning the latest treatment techniques and technologies to help patients. A top student, Dr. Stulen was also one of few students selected to be a member of Omicron Kappa Upsilon, an honors society for dental students who exhibit academic excellence, leadership and community service. No matter what dental needs her patients experience, they can breathe a sigh of relief knowing she is equipped to help.
Outside of the office, you can find Dr. Stulen relaxing by the river or hanging out at the beach. She also enjoys fitness and working on improving her pickleball game with her husband. A true foodie, she loves trying new recipes and restaurants. Her favorite treat is a freshly baked gingerbread cookie from Raleigh Tavern Bakery.
Whether she’s out in the community or at the office, Dr. Stulen brings a fun, relaxed attitude. She wants her patients to look forward to their visits knowing they’re in a safe space.
